I have been messing around with different things on the internet for a long time now. Well over 18 years. I have had a account with Google AdSense for more than 10 years of the time I started educating myself on building a online presence. Since early 2014 I have been really hitting it hard with my YouTube Channel and with also developing a few websites, like the one you are reading this on now. I decided that if I ever wanted to be seen on the first page off Google that I would start to run paid campaigns to drive targeted traffic to my site to get it recognized. Trust me with out knowing a ton of people or getting luck. If you ever desire to grow online you too will have to pay for traffic. But back to my point. So, I started running paid campaigns to get targeted traffic to my site so people that were looking for motivation and inspiration would know my site exist. I had placed ads on my site to help offset some of the expenses that it cost to own a domain and store online.
For some reason one of the vendors I used to run the campaign was less than honest about being 100% Google AdSense safe. For this reason after X amount of time. I do not know the time because Google would not give me much information due to security reasons. Which is pretty understandable, because if they gave out information like that it could cause a serious security issue. But anyways after X amount of time of this campaign running. I got the dreaded email saying that my AdSense account had been shut down due to "Invalid Activity". At this point my heart dropped like a heavy weight down to my stomach. Given that I have had a account with them for over ten years now and this never happened before and now they were saying that I was shut down not able to use AdSense on my accounts. Not only did this effect my websites but it also effected my YouTube channel that I have spent endless hours on to build. I did file a appeal with there automatic response system, more than once, that kept sending me an email claiming that they would not reinstate my account. After a few of those I will not lie my blood pressure started to rise given the long time I had been in AdSense with absolutely zero violations. But for some reason that was truly out of my control, given that I trusted a vendor that was dishonest of their work, my account was not going to be reinstated.
Now at this point a lot of people would of just gave up and said ok I have to find a alternative and my YouTube Channel just became Worthless, literally after tons of hours of work. I was not satisfied with the fact I kept getting a automated response with my appeal on why I think my account should be reinstated. So what I did was personally write them a formal letter. I mailed this to the headquarters in California US. With hope that a human in the AdSense department will read it and see that I have been with them so long and never had a violation and give me another chance.
I must say that I do know if they still deny my reinstatement that I may have to find other means of advertisement. But my point here is that even thought life can throw changes at you. You can chose to fight for what you believe in, especially if you know that you did not intentionally do anything wrong. In my case I know I don't click on my own ads or tell others to click on them either and I believe that someone that clicks on a ad should be interested in what it has to offer. I am just hoping Google sees it this way as well! But either way I know I will still continue to grow with or without the AdSense account and I at least know I gave the best effort to plea my case with them. If they desire not to reinstate it. That is their choice and frankly I have to live with it. But I will find other ways if that does happen. Lets just say I have already started looking just in case.
The main point here is. If life throws things at you with change and challenges. Just make the right choices, fight for what is right and move forward no matter what happens.
If Google reads my letter I will update this post with their response.
Even after a few more appeals Google still has not responded to any of my attempts. The funny thing is. If I were bringing them tons of ad traffic. I most likely would of heard back from them by now. But after online appeals and a personal letter sent to the corporate office in California. Google still has not given me a true explanation of why they shut down my AdSense account right before payday. Writing the CA attorney general has definitely crossed my mind. It might even be my next move. If anything changes I will update this post again.
